Weekly Game Sales: Forza 2 Best Selling 360 Game? (11-24-07)

VG Chartz have just released the game sales numbers for the week ending November 24th, 2007. The big shocker of the chart is the fact that Forza 2 is the best selling Xbox 360 game and 3rd overall on the chart with 221,826 copies moved (1,321,474 total). Maybe even more shocking is that Marvel Ultimate Alliance is the second best selling 360 game with 214,370 copies sitting in gamers stacks (1,214,811 total). To be fair, both of these titles have been bundled with the Xbox 360 Pro for the holidays which means that Microsoft is moving a considerable number of consoles even this early in the holiday season. It is nice to see that a fine racer like Forza 2 will be enjoyed by the masses thanks to this bundling. Mass Effect was the third most sold 360 games in its first week on shelves with a respectable 192,993 copies sold (not nearly as big a opening week as the other two big titles (Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed) that were released in the weeks preceding Mass Effect that both managed over 500,000 in sales). Speaking of Assassins Creed, it managed to sell 178,457 copies for a two week total of 747,864. Call of Duty 4 was also able to put up some pretty big numbers for its third week out in the wild with 130,065 copies out the door (872,086 total). With 94,293 units sold in its fourth week on shelves, Guitar Hero III outsold Rock Band that only managed a very disappointing 78,275 copies in it debut week (granted that was $170 for each one of those copies). NFS: Prostreet and Kane and Lynch managed to add 79,447 and 64,774 units respectively to their totals (183,708 and 153,264 also respectively) in their second week of sales.
